Year after year, the Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR) reveals that cyberattacks are on the rise. This year’s report is no different, showing another increase in the number of security incidents and successful breaches.
Organizations realize this threat, and their response to cyberattacks has resulted in a spending boom that Cybersecurity Ventures expects to exceed $1 trillion by 2021. However, this spending isn’t going only toward technology and solutions. Companies are hiring cybersecurity experts as well. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job market for cybersecurity analysts will increase by 28 percent by 2026.
“There’s a huge demand for cybersecurity roles,” Indeed.com states. “Employers, on the other hand, may struggle to fill them.” With an increase in attacks and a shortage of skilled workers, this is the perfect time to take cybersecurity training to obtain industry certifications.
